The CLAM BALMs healing lotion is a light not-greasy lotion that soaks into the skin quickly. While I like to work a thick cream into my hands, I need a lighter body lotion and this works well. My back was itching so much and instead of having my husband scratch it, I asked him to rub the lotion on the skin. It immediately felt better.I don’t love the scent. It’s medicinal and stronger than I’d like.

The cream itself is great. My elderly father needs lotions for his skin, as he’s diabetic and has to prevent cracked skin. He says that it worked almost overnight, as opposed to many other lotions he’s used. I immediately ordered him two more tubes.My beef is that the smell is off-putting — a chemical smell that makes me think of hospitals. My father didn’t seem to mind that. Also, the top to the tube goes on with difficulty. I think it needs more threads to make it catch better. It’s a challenge for my father, and he already has enough to deal with.

I really like everything about this lotion but it has a scent. I really like the smell of it but I do not like scents, no matter how nice they smell, added to my skin care products. This lotion is lightweight and absorbs nicely without leaving a residue. If you aren’t sensitive to fragrance, CLAM BALMs really has created a very nice lotion here. I hope they consider making it fragrance free at some point.
