I honestly I though it was gimmicky but decided to give it a try. It works and is fun to use. Seems sturdy enough. Shipping speed actually wasn’t bad from China. It’s worth checking out.

Took about 3 weeks to receive but it was worth the wait. My first mistake was to try to plunge this thing in the middle of a wedge of walnut. It got stuck obviously. After a few trials, I had this thing splitting oak, walnut, and hickory. Just be aware that the thicker the wood you’re splitting, the closer to the end you need to insert the bit. Don’t be a hero and go for the center. Maybe two inches from the end on your harder wood, and don’t use on wood thicker than 4-5 inches. I love this thing. So satisfying to use. :DAlso, as for technique, I find it easier to place one foot on the wood to prevent it from spinning with the bit and position myself directly over the wood/drill. Then I just let the weight of my upper body press the bit into the wood. It’s even easier to do if you place the wood on a stump or something so it’s off the ground a bit. For harder wood, it will take a few second for the drill bit to bite into the wood, but once it bites, you’re in business.One last thing I should mention; I use a 20v Dewalt cordless drill. This bit DOES NOT work for me when I have my drill on speed setting 2. My drill only has enough torque when it’s on level 1. Your results may vary depending on your tool.
